Wolfsburg's Felix Magath has confirmed that they are indeed interested in Bayern Munich's Ivica Olic.

The coach has admitted that his club are monitoring the player as they look to add more firing power to their squad.

With the Croatian International of recent, failing to secure a starting position in the Bundesliga giant's squad, a move away would be considered by foward.

"Olic would fit in here. And as far as I'm aware of the situation, he is open to a move," Magath was quoted as saying by Bild.

But Felix very well knows that it is all up to Bayern Munich, "He will probably play at his last big tournament at Euro 2012 this summer, and he wants to play in the build-up. However, the question is whether Bayern are ready to sell him."

And Bayern Munich earlier this season has already made it known that they are not offloading any players in this January Transfer window.

This means that Wolfsburg would have their work cut out for them, as they would have to maybe produce a more than convincing bid in order to secure the services of the striker.

Reports suggest that Genoa are keen to secure the services of defender Cristian Chivu as the player has an expiring contract with Inter Milan.

With Inter looking to bring in more young and talented players it seems highly unlikely that he would be offered a contract by the Italian giants.

The Italian club Genoa will try most likely to sign him on on a free transfer, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

It is said that they would offer Chivu a three-year deal with an annual salary of €1.5 million as they look to add experience to their back line.

Reports indicate that the highly rated Uruguayan stopper is being monitored by Italian giants Juventus and also French power house PSG, as the January transfer window approaches.

Rumors also show that Juventus are in the poll position to sign the defender as he favors a move to the Italian club.

But this however hasn't deterred the big spending PSG from giving up as they would be willing to compete for the player, as money wouldn't be an issue.

It is believed that if Martin sign's for the French club, he could be arriving along with forwards Carlos Tevez and Salomon Kalou.

The Russian striker has fallen out of favor, as he has struggled to cement a starting position against the likes of Adebayor and Defoe.

His agent has claimed that Roman

has been offered the chance to move across to QPR.

With the player looking to secure a place in his country's squad for Euro 2012 and not starting any games for the season so far, a move is most likely to happen.

But his agent has said that the striker hasn't made up his mind yet, "Before talking about it - if Roman wants to be a QPR player or not - we have to consider every detail. Roman hasn't thought about it yet."

He would however be a great addition to QPR's strike force and could actually star at the London club.

Just last season United were crowned Premier League champions and made it to the Champions League final where they were defeated by a magnificent Barcelona team.

With the Red Devils beginning the season with a bang, demolishing Arsenal 8-2 it was said that United were going to be a force to reckon with, challenging for all major competitions this term.

But on the 7th of December, Manchester United surprisingly crashed out of the Champions League by defeat to Swiss team Basel, in the last match of the group stages.

How could this of been POSSIBLE?!?!?!?
This is the question many United fans may have asked themselves, as they saw a lackluster Manchester not being able to defeat their opponents.

With Basel making 1 of the biggest upsets in football history, many ask what went wrong for the Red Devils, how could they of not get the result needed from what seemed an easy match.

Well 1 of the answers is overconfidence. When questioned in a press conference after their draw with Benfica at home, about if United were struggling in the Champions League this season, the furious Scot responded by walking out. He was insulted by the suggestion. The irony is tho that his team has been knocked out and now must partake of the not so glamerous Europa League.

What seemed to be as the easiest group to win for United, they were unable to make it out on top. Even Fergie was forcibly forced to admit that "complacency" and "casualness" were displayed in United's performances.

The 2nd problem stems from United's sorry excuse for midfielders with the likes of Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher not performing at their best. Looking at United's 4-1 win over Wolves on the weekend, most of their attacks came through the wing areas and hardly through the center.

And that is where they fall, they fail to link attacking plays through the center and this in turns leaves their whole defense exposed to attacks from their opponents.

This was shown against their rivals, where they were humiliated with a 6-1 defeat.

If Manchester United don't address these problems soon, sad to say we could be looking at a future Liverpool a few seasons ago.

The Fiorentina star's agent has insisted that a move in the January transfer window is highly unlikely due to the Italian club wanting to retain the services of the tricky midfielder.

Although the Italian international has been heavily linked with a move to Club A.C. Milan and of recent Juventus, his agent has made it clear that a move is not an option at the moment.

"At the moment, there is nothing happening. There are no options. The interest of AC Milan? That's more speculation in the press than it is a realistic option," Branchini told Sky Sport Italia.

"Fiorentina have declared him unsellable, so I really don't think he will leave in January. Riccardo also has the intention to stay until June and that has to be respected," his agent continued.

A.C. Milan will most likely continue trying for the midfielder in the summer if they fail in January, as they look to replace the gap left by Pirlo.

Their has been a growing list of ageing European stars who are interested in joining Major League Soccer and it seems that Ballack is one of them.

The 35 year old contract runs out by the end of this season and inquires have already been made by many teams, but surprisingly none from any MLS teams.

However this hasn't deterred the Bayer Leverkusen's midfielder from considering a move to the American League.

"His contract is done in 2012 and of course it is a possibility," his agent Becker revealed to Goal.com.

"He could go back to England but he's already been there," his agent continued.

But Becker However believes he would bring something new to the MLS if brought over.

"With his body type, he's like an American quarterback. He is something definitely different from Donovan or even Beckham. Something the MLS hasn't had yet."

The only concern there would be for American teams in pursuit would be the fitness of the German, with part of his career being plagued with injuries.

The former Liverpool striker had high expectations to be the future star of Chelsea, (honestly i didn't have any) being purchased for €50 million, but has turned out to be 1 of the biggest laughing stocks in Football history.

Only scoring 1 goal last season, the Spaniard has looked far from his best, doing exactly the opposite he is known for.

This was a player that terrorized  Nemajna Vidic, arguably the best defender in the Premier league, turning the United man inside out but now Fernando misses open nets and is bullied by almost every defender he encounters.

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich probably laments making 1 of the biggest mistakes of his life which would be buying the wasteful striker.

I mean "COME ON!!!!!" what in his right mind made him think that he could of revived the Torres career.

The signs were clear, the striker wasn't even performing for Liverpool.

Now Chelsea fans have to stick to playing Fifa if they want him to actually score goals.

But all hope isn't loss i must say. After sitting down and watching the thrilling encounter between Chelsea and Newcastle i saw something and i am sure Chelsea fans saw it too. Sadly it wasn't the sight of Torres getting any better that is. But the sight i beheld was that of Daniel Sturridge.

The English striker was practically Chelsea's biggest threat in the game. I heard about his performances of recent in previous games, but didn't really get a chance to see the forward in action before. But by his performance on this occasion he deserved to start the game, before the likes of Torres, Anelka and Kalou.

He certainly didn't let his manager, Andre Villas-Boas or Chelsea fans down on the day. The young Chelsea star is a joy to watch combining his quick accelerating runs, amazing skills and his "freakishly" powerful left foot.

He troubled Newcastle's defense through out the whole 90 minutes and probably should have scored a hat-trick but regardless he did what Torres has been trying to do for a while now and that is score.

Chelsea fans should be able to take a sigh of relief as their is a light at the end of the road. It might not be in the form of highly over priced Spaniard but Sturridge is ready to take up the task as being Chelsea's main striker and a regular scorer.

Leandro Damiao's agent met with Juventus to discuss the striker leaving Internacional for Italy in the summer.

Juventus had a previous bid of  €20 million turned down with Internacional asking for 30 million.

Damiao’s representative, Vinicius Prates, has has said that the Italian Giants remain very keen on signing the 22-year-old.

"I met with leaders of Juventus, but there's nothing official,” he told Tuttosport. "We just talked."

"It’s normal that big teams want the boy; they have called me from all over Europe, including Real Madrid."

"Juventus are a great club and it would be an honor for Leandro to play for them."

"It depends on making a deal with his club. It’s still possible that next season the boy can play in Italy."

Damiao has made a name for himself with his explosive runs that has terrified defences and would prove to be a great addition to Juventus.

The Bundesliga club has joined Arsenal in the race to sign the Ghana star.

Bayern Munich sent a club official to watch the Ghanaian in action in last weekend’s Ligue 1 clash with Paris Saint-Germain reported RMC Sports.

No contact however has been made between the German power house and the French side for the the player but Bayern are keeping a close eye on the skilled foward.

Andre has an 11 million release clause in his existing deal but some reports indicate that Marseille man wants to stay with the French side. Only time will tell if Marseille will lose 1 of it's pized asset.

Spanish club, Valencia are in the market for a defender (of the right back position) and it seems that they have set their sights on Gregory van der Wiel.

The Ajax defender's agent has revealed that their has been contact with the Spanish outfit but an agreement is yet to be made.

Reports earlier suggested that Dutch star had agreed personal terms with the Spanish club but his agent has denied these claims.

"It's not true that we have already agreed personal terms. Valencia will have to reach an agreement with Ajax first. Everything's going in quite a good atmosphere, though," Slimani told Voetbal International.

His agent however believes that a move would be of benefit to Gregory.

"Valencia would be a great next step in Gregory's career. They really want him as their new right-back and Valencia are a big team in a superb league."

Valencia would be in for stiff competition for the 23 year old starlet as Chelsea, Manchester City and Juventus have also been linked with the player.

The 27 year old Croatian player has had a tough time at White Hear Lane as he has been plagued by injury in which he has had little playing time.

Niko has also expressed his desire to leave due to his lack of playing time, as he has been targeted by top clubs such as Roma and Sunderland.

The Midfielder would get his wish granted as Tottenham look to bring in new fresh players with Hoilett being a main target this season.

The 21 year old Canadian attacker has impressed with his combination of pace, creativity and versatility, which would prove to be a great asset in giving Spurs useful attacking options.

The Blackburn Rover's player is out of contract at the end of the season and has so far refused to sign a new deal at Ewood Park.

Junior would most likely favor a move away from Blackburn as they have failed to impress this season and look in serious risk of relegation.

With Harry Redknapp a fan of the Blackburn star the move looks imminent.

"He [Hoilett] is a good player," admitted Redknapp last week.

"We have never made any enquiries for him, but he has been an exciting little player this year."

The Italian hitman is currently out with a knee injury but that hasn't stopped speculation from his representatives that he could return to the Serie A after he fully recovers.

His agent, Federico Pastorello, has claimed that there exist a possibility that his client could join Italian club Napoli.

"Rossi to Napoli? It's normal that Napoli would be considered as they are great club and many players, Rossi aside, would like to join them because they are doing well in the Champions League," Pastorello said.

"Also, Napoli have the advantage of now being able to attract top players in the transfer window compared to the past."

Rossi, 24, isn't expected to bounce back into action until April after tearing an anterior cruciate ligament in the right knee .

Joe Cole has brought back to life his career as he is currently on loan French club Lille.

The last year winners of the French League are now targeting making the inform Cole, move permanent from Liverpool.

The English man wouldn't mind the move as he has struggled at Anfield after joining from Chelsea in 2010.

Since Joe's arrival, Lille are unbeaten in Ligue impressing Lille's Manager Rudi Garcia and also starring in Tuesday night’s 2-0 Champions League win over CSKA Moscow.

"It is not a certainty that he will leave us at the end his contract," said club president Michel Seydoux.

"If he has a good feeling with Lille and we can make him an interesting offer, this is something we will look into."

Although Joe Cole has 2 years left on his contract at Anfield, he has expressed his enjoyment at playing in France.

The out of favor Arsenal striker who is currently on loan with Premier League team Sunderland, has made it known that he isn't interested in a return to the Emirates Stadium, suggesting that he could continue with the Black Cats.

It was reported earlier that the Danish star would prefer a move to a club that offers Champions League football but Bendtner has denied these claims suggesting poor translation was the reason for his statement sounding that way.

“I’ve never hidden the fact that I’m very keen to play in the Champions League again," he told reporters.

“But I also read that I’d said if I don’t play in the Champions League, I won’t be playing for Sunderland."

“That’s not the case but that’s how they misinterpret Danish into English."

“As a player, you should have ambition – I’m sure every player you speak to wants to play in the Champions League."

“But I haven’t ruled out staying at Sunderland. As I’ve said before, I just want to enjoy the year I have here and then see what happens in the summer.”

Nicklas would most likely want to stay as he has become the focal point of Sunderland's attacks, with the departure of striker Asamoah Gyan and injury to Connor Wickham, he is guaranteed regular football.

Borussia Dortmund's coach has reiterated that the German starlet is going nowhere in the winter amidst the player being heavily linked with a move away form the club.

The player has been targeted by some of Europe's top clubs such as Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Arsenal.

The midfielder has been in blistering form making a name for himself as a world class player but    Jurgen Klopp is certain that there prized asset would not be sold.

"Nothing can happen in January. The alleged interest is not a problem," Klopp told reporters.

"Arsenal are only about 10 per cent of what is written in Germany, so it's not a problem. Apparently, Bayern Munich are interested in him, too."

"Nobody buys a player from Borussia Dortmund just like that. Not even Arsenal."

Jurgen also gains confidence on the fact that Gotze isn't affected by the transfer speculations and that he is completely focused on his current club.

"Luckily, his focus is not an issue. He's very relaxed about that. He scored one against Bayern Munich and I will be happy if he gets the winner against Arsenal."

The German club are in preparing for Premier League team Arsenal as they both square off in the group stages of the champions league on Wednesday.

The Argentine player has caught the attention of many bi name clubs, with Arsenal, Tottenham and Inter Milan being linked the most with the player.

According to Goal.com the clubs are weighting up a move for the midfielder who is worth around the range of  €11.5 million.

The QPR player has been in superb form this season and has been watched closely ahead of this January transfer window with top clubs looking to reinforce their teams.

But the little trickster might favor a stay at his current club due to more playing time as competition would be stiff at those clubs.

Shanghai Shenhua from the Chinese Super League (CSL) club  have confirmed they've "inqured about" the services of Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka, with news within the French media predicting he'll proceed to Asia in the month of january.

It has been said that the French International has become frustrated with the lack of play time, only starting three Premier League matches for the Blues so far. Chelsea would have no choice but to sell the striker due to the fact that his contract expires at the end of this season.

The Chinese Club however acknowledged that they would be in for stiff competition as other Top European clubs are also interested in the Chelsea man.

"It is so difficult. We actually asked about Anelka," a Shanghai Shenhua official told newspaper DF Daily. "We also know he could leave the Blues as a Bosman player next summer but there are so many clubs interested in him"
"AC Milan, Russian clubs and some Gulf clubs. If we want to sign him finally, would cost plenty."
Despite the competition for the French man reports indicate that the frontman has already agreed to join them in a deal that will see him scoop €10.6 million per year.
Harry Redknapp was all full of praises for Luca Modric with the Croatian star stealing the show as Tottenham ran out 2-0 winners over Aston Villa.

Redknapp, who came back to the Whitened Hart Lane dugout the very first time since going through a small heart procedure, continues to be thrilled by the way Modric has struck up a partnership with summer time signing Scott Parker.

Redknapp told Sky Sports, "Luka was fantastic. He was instrumental. He keeps getting on the ball and him and Scott Parker have been outstanding together in the middle of the park."

"I love Luka, I love the way he plays his football and he's an absolutely top-class professional and a great guy."

When the manager was questioned, if there was any news on Modric's contract, Redknapp added, "I don't know where the chairman is. I don't really get involved in that."

The Spurs boss however has insisted that the club need to keep hold of the midfielder if they are to advance in the Barclays Premier League, with the intention of securing a Champions League Spot next Season.

"You've got to keep Luka here. You don't get too many Luka Modrics coming along and we are looking to really be a big club."

Redknapp continued to say that he hopes Modric's contract "gets sorted" with the intention that the Tottenham star stays this season and many more.
